Rally Day celebrated
Sunday, September 21
Chaplain
Norris Burke was the featured speaker for Rally Day activities on
Sunday, September 21. The morning began with continental
breakfast, hosted by the Christian Education and Worship and Music
Committees. Norris Burke gave an entertaining talk on hope, which
focused on his experiences serving as a chaplain in a pediatric wing
of a hospital, chaplain for the military, pastor for ten years, and
a syndicated columnist. Chaplain Norris' column on faith
issues appears on Fridays in the Staunton News Leader.
During the
worship service, Kemper Snyder was presented with a Bible by the
Christian Education Committee. Second Church has long marked a
student's entry into the fourth grade with the gift of a Bible.
Kemper was presented with the Adventure Bible, a version of the New
International Version.
Pictures from the morning's activities follow. |
