Steeple painting done September 17-20

Buck's Painting completed work on the steeple and upper tower sections of the church during the weeks of September 17-20.  The steeple, which was recently repaired due to wind damage last winter, was given a fresh coat of silver paint.  The upper areas of the tower were also painted.  New window sills were also installed in these regions, as the existing ones were badly deteriorated.  Paul Wolfe made the new sills, which were then installed by the painting crew.

A large crane from Cave Hill equipment was used to lift a two person crew up to the steeple.  Like the recent repairs, the crane was parked in the Methodist parking lot, and lifted the workers over Frederick Street and the power lines to the steeple.
