Church Night Supper
and Program: Sept. 17
This
month's Church Night covered dish supper will be on Wednesday
September 17. Following the usual shared meal, the evening's
program will be presented by Second's Baja Mission Team members,
Andy Easley and Dan Williams. [Jonathan Williams is
away at college and is not anticipated to be at this gathering.]
Something new this year will be video shot by
Andy Easley of the work accomplished, and other aspects of the trip.
This should give an even deeper view of what the Team was able to
accomplish this year. For a detailed report of the 2008 Baja
Mission Trip, click

Second's
team members were part of the Acme Construction team, made up of
members of Second, Covenant, Trinity, and Augusta Stone churches.
They built a house for a family of six (five members actually living
there) in a newer colonia on the south side of San Quintin.
San Quintin is a larger community about 20 kilometers south of
Vicente Guerrero and the International Disciples Training Mission,
where the team stays while in Mexico. These colonias are
closer to some large tomato and vegetable growing and packing
operations that have been developed in the past several years.
They provide vegetables and fruits for several U.S. companies,
including Safeway supermarkets and Driscoll berries.
The Church Night will be hosted by the Mission
Committee. Please bring a food item to share with all.
Table service and beverages will be provided. |
